Laboratory: It is a place where experiments for science carried on. Generally schools have laboratories which provide opportunities to students to get engaged with their real life experiences. Lab facility is provided to the students from grade 6th onwards. SPS mainly has 3 labs for each branch of science i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology. SPS believes the overall development of an individual child. So laboratories play a vital role in the whole curriculum of a child. Laboratories help:

•   To build high intellectual abilities of an individual.
•   In long last learning.
•   To give unforgettable experiences of particular concept.
•   To motivate the students for learning by doing.
•   To kick the bad habit of rote memory.

Biology Laboratory:

Biology stands for “study of life” and it helps to know all the life processes in living things. SPS has well defined 3-D models, slides for the detailed information about life processes, microscope to observe minute particles and many more.

•   Biological lab gives the exact 3 – Dimensional models of microscopic structures of the living world.
•   It gives the student real life experiences where a child learns by performing the experiments.
•   Biology labs provide the child detailed knowledge about the unseen world.
•   It helps the child to know more about the internal organ system of organisms by doing dissection.
•   Labs help in knowing the living processes in plants, animals and humans.
•   It encourages the students to build biological attitudes.
•   Students can co-relate their bookish knowledge with practical knowledge which enhances their learning.

Physics Laboratory:

•   Experimentation is the integral part of physics learning and school physics laboratory is the ideal place to sow the seed of control experimentation in the mind of the students.
•   The physics lab is well designed for students so that they may acquire skill and confidence in their measurement with accuracy. Manipulation of materials, tools, instruments, description of observations, ability to rationally defend their conclusions are learnt along with many discussions in the lab.
•   SPS is proud to have a sophisticated physics laboratory with the latest facilities that equip the students to have hands on experience. The flat topped tables used as student workstations allow multiple arrangements and combinations for laboratory work and small group activities.
•   There is a wide range of physics laboratory equipment from the commom ones like magnets, pulleys, pendulums, inclined planes, heat lamps, beakers, lenses(convex and concave), mirrors(convex and concave), tunning forks, spring, scales etc. to sophisticated ones like meter bridge, potentiometer, travelling microscope, electromagnets, voltmeter, ammeter, galvanometer,p-n junction diode, Zener diode, npn and pnp transistor, ohm’s law etc.
•   The laboratory is aimed in enabling students to learn physics theories in a more elaborative manner with the involvement of its application. The experiments are carried out under the guidance of qualified teachers. The entire functioning is done as per standardized safety norms.

Chemistry Laboratory:

Chemistry is a branch of science that deals with the study of substances and their constituents. It also addresses the properties of these substances, and their reactions to new substance formation. Chemistry focuses mainly on atoms, ions and molecules that constitute elements and compounds.

Our chemistry lab aims to

Our chemistry lab is well equipped with chemicals and other apparatus to cater to the needs of all the students up to class 12. Students start using the chemistry lab from class 6 onwards. They show great enthusiasm in using chemicals and perform hands on experiments.. It is also supported by a virtual lab which is used to conduct experiments on the board and observe the reactions. The virtual lab also provides animations of chemical reactions at the molecular level. The lab has an excellent safety system with fire extinguishers and a shower cum eye washer equipment.
